job hunting advice
Rach asked:

I am looking for an Administrative Assistant, Office Manager etc. kind of job in San Francisco or the East Bay. I Have been looking on craigslist for about 2-3 weeks now applying to 3-7 jobs a day but I am not getting any followups. I just graduated from college with a BS in Psychology, have over a year or managing experience, and about 2 years added up of random secretary/administrative support positions.

I have a decent resume which has been looked over and approved by a number of people, and I spend time customizing my cover letters for each individual job.

Any tips?
also where else can I look?

I am likable, hard working, and really want to throw myself into a new job 100%.

There is nothing better at getting a job then the old fashioned…get off your but and go out to the businesses and apply.

On your resume, always have it written on ONE single WHITE paper. No colors or fancy art work or fonts. The boss has no time to go through any more than one page.
Are you dress for the part? No blue jeans, tennis shoes, hair in the face, too much make up and etc. Be confident and no limp/strong armed handshakes. Read up on the company you are applying for and get ready to answer the question, Where will you be in five years? Why should I hire you?. Don’t be shy about your capabilities. Good luck
