job hunting sucks
Rachelle asked:

I think i owe student loans, but i’m not sure because i’m still in school but it comes up on my credit. I do owe bank statements and my cell phone statements that i couldn’t been able to pay because no one hires me. Does credit have anything to do with why you don’t get hired? SOMEONE TELL ME PLEASE. Because job hunting has just became so hard for me!

Most employers won’t do a credit check before hiring you. Some will.

Depends on the type of work you are seeking. I know a lot of companies do credit checks now. Temp services usually do not, and they can get you in the door so that the company will hire you on despite your credit. You may want to take a look at that route.

Most employers don’t check your credit too closely, or at all.
Your first priority should be figuring out exactly how much you owe to whom. The next priority should be figuring out how you can pay it back. If possible, consider asking your parents for a loan to take care of your immediate debts while you look for a job.

Also, do a little reading and take control of your finances - this is the time to start.

If you are handling confidential information, your credit report and credit score matters, otherwise it does not matter. From
