I have been unemployed for about 5 months, and people constantly ask how it’s going and if I have found anything. I know they are probably just trying to have a conversation, but it really bugs me that I have to keep saying no job yet, I’m still a failure… I kind of want to say it ***** but thanks for reminding me.

Even my husband bickers about it, and I told him it bugs me and makes me feel bad but he and all the family/friends keep mentioning it. Should I say I got a job just to shut them up? Would you be offended? I would think if I had one, I would tell them and they shouldn’t be asking!

I am a trained Network Engineer in Cisco/Windows infrastructure. 4 Year term in US Airforce in NOC and:
AA in IT Systems, CCNP, CCSP, CCDP, MCSE module training, A+Training, numerous training and hands on on utilities such as: HP openview, Cisco Works etc.

Not been able to land an IT job for 18 months. Nailed two jobs, one in Mid 2006 and another in early 2007, bad luck locked me out for different co-incidental occurrences right before signing a contract.

Any ideas on how to move from here? If you are in the industry and have something going along this fields you’re welcome to shoot me an email.

I’m currently working on getting my license to teach American History.

As we all probably know, its hard to find teaching jobs; especially for subjects such as mine. Any tips on how to find the job and be hired?
I’m sorry; I should be more specific. When I say there’s a lack of teaching jobs, I mean they are hard to get because so many people want them.

Okay, I’m a 20 yr old, African-American online college student, no kids, and no luck. I’m going to school for creative writing and have figured out that I will need another entry level job that can hold me until my career picks up. I have the worst luck finding good jobs. I always get stuck with the jobs nobody wants. For instance, I’m a waitress at a diner now. My friends work at banks, hotels, and my boyfriend works at one of the best hospitals in the city. My resume’ isn’t all that good considering i haven’t stayed at a job for more than 4 months and thats because the jobs i get are terrible and the pay isn’t worth the stress. I want out of these food service and petty jobs. Could anybody help me out or give me some job hunting tips. Maybe there is a website besides Monster.com that could help me.
