So far I’m having little success. I’ve gotten a few interviews, but no job offers. I got an interview as a bank teller, but the position was too far to commute so the Bank Recruiter claims she’s looking for a closer position for me. I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m just getting very discouraged.
Should I just go to a temp agency and hope for the best? I’m not low on cash right now, but I will be unless I can find a job in the next month or so? Maybe my standards are too high…
Job hunting *****.
Yes, temps are great experience. They are flexible if they don’t work out, good experience in the corporate world and you never know, you might like the company, environment, vice versa and it might turn into something more.
I agree with you on the job market. Right now I work for a caregiver company that goes to peoples homes and help them with everyday tasks or just be company for them. They really enjoy the time attention. You don’t do any medicial tasks like BP or stuff. I also work at a daycare full time. These may not be jobs that look good on a resume though but they are rewarding.
If you go to a temp agency tell them you want temp to perm. Also to be connected to their head hunter. Usually they have the better contacts. My boyfriend went to a temp agency and ended up with a company for 13 yrs. Good Luck.
The larger your city, the more jobs there are. You seem to be a good track with financial institutions as they don’t pay a lot and typically expereince fairly high turnover. On a good notem, they also like to promote from within.
I suggest you look for banks, credit unions and savings loans within your area and apply in person. From my perspective, working at a financial institution would be a positive aspect on a resume.
