job hunting advice
tara lynn g asked:

No time to attend college weekly, I have a 9 month old and bills to pay. I make good money, but would like something more steady then waitressing. I was thinking about real estate school, or going to get my insurance license (these are things I THINK would be good in the money area, and also not take long to get, and reasonable with my situation). I just want some advice on what to do, maybe where to go, etc. I need good health insurance in my job also, that’s always a plus. Thanks!

Insurance is GOOD - the companies are refusing to pay out on claims so they get to keep all the money.

Health insurance is very bad for payouts. Just watch the movie SICKO.

Real estate is a BAD idea right now - houses are just NOT selling - banks are foreclosing on them all over the place.

There are correspondence schools and see if you can talk someone into helping out one night a week. Both insurance and Real Estate are good options see if you can find someone who will talk to you about it and maybe that you can help out.

Go in and talk to some of the local insurance brokers or real estate agents… read up first on the internet so you can ask intelligent questions… dumb questions make you look dumb… but you might want to have a couple of questions that you already know the answer to … then when you ask them you can tell if they are giving you good information.

If you are willing to put in the time (No TV etc.) you can go places.. Good Luck

Look, it is not about college, it is who you know.
