Do a quality resume / cover letter ONCE.
Then throw it out to EVERYONE. (Quantity)

search all the websites and type in what your looking for job centre is good as well.
Go and see a local careers advisdor and see if they will place you someone for experience grounds.
ring up all the practices and hospitals in your area and put ur c.v on the websites.
Also put it on gumtree.
